| How did the nickname "Meat" come about?
One night in 1987, Meat was fourteen at the time, He was bowling on lanes 11 & 12 at Moody AFB in Valdosta, GA. Bowling on lanes 13 & 14 were Dave Tolson, Warren Hall, Scott Schnaible, Keith Blue, Ray Wilson and Rick's Dad. Meat was bowling really well. He had shot approximately 660 for 3 games. Meanwhile all the adults were bowling for $5.00 per game on lanes 13 & 14 and were struggling to break 180. Seizing the opportunity, "Meat" places his balls on the ball return on lanes 13 & 14 and said " I want in your pockets, lets go". Warren Hall exclaimed "Fresh Meat" and the name "Meat" stuck. Needless to say he was quickly chased away like a gnat at a picnic since he was not ready to give up his YABA eligibility. |
